I just got back into coupon clipping but would love to share my tips, tricks, and inside scoop of what coupons are in the paper this week and where to use them.

Not much in couponing world...
There were no coupons in the papers this weekend but I will check out the papers this week and keep you all updated.
But I do have one tidbit for all of you.
If you receive food stamps and have lost food due to the storm, then you are able to go to Family Services and fill out a food stamp replacement form. It didn't take much time at all because they were so well prepared ahead of time

Great finds of the week...
*There were two coupons for Old Spice deodorant and body wash in the paper this week. One coupon was a BOGO free coupon and another was $1 off. Combined with Walgreens deal on the Old Spice deodorant/body wash of BOGO half off, I was able to get two deodorants and two body washes for LESS than the price of two items. The total was $9 instead of $20 and now my hubby is set for the entire month.
* Claritin had a coupon in the paper for $5 off 40 count, Walgreens had a coupon of $5 off and I was given $8 store cash at the receipt that I was able to use at the next visit. So I received a little more than a months supply of my allergy medicine, which usually goes for $31.99 and had a savings of $18.
* Kool-aid had a coupon in the paper for buy 10 packets get 5 free and at this time Schnucks has a deal of 10 packets for $1.
Those were my finds of the week... If you had any please me know.

General Tips for the hopeful coupon clipper
1. Don't clip coupons for things that you do not NEED or use regularly. By clipping coupons for things that look good our sound like a great deal you will actually be spending more money than by not cutting coupons to begin.
2. Plan meals around the coupons you have clipped and around what you already have at home. If you plan your meals in advanced it will not only allow you to keep your will power in the store by not buying other things not on your list, but it will also allow you to not waste food or money.
3. Remember you can combine store specific coupons and manufacture coupons. For example today I used a manufacture coupon for $5 dollars off of Claritin and a Walgreens coupon for $5 dollars off. Giving me twice the discount. You must read the coupon carefully because if one states buy 40 count and the other states buy 24 count or more than you would need to buy the 40 count to use both coupons.
4. Sometimes a coupon that seems like less of a value is actually more of a value at stores that double coupons. I had one coupon for 75 cents of the purchase of three Pillsbury rolls and a coupon for 40 cents of two Pillsbury rolls. Since Schnucks doubles coupons 40 cents or less I actually saved more money.
5. Remember that store coupons usually expire faster than manufacture coupons.
6. Storing coupons in a Ziploc bag can make it very simple to have them handy and keeps them safe in your purse.
7. Keep track of how much you have saved. This gives a satisfying feeling and helps you discover how much of a budget you really need for shopping. Plus, it makes the Hubby realize how much of an impact you are making by your efforts.
If you really want to be kind to other shoppers you can leave coupons that you will not be using on the shelf in front of the item the coupon is for. It shares the blessing and makes everyone a little happier.
